With the rise of multiple devices that can access online stores, the website should be responsive and easy to use on these different platforms. It should also be lightweight and reflective of modern design style to make it more appealing to the end-users.

Utilize Adobe Commerce native functionality to provide Dunn Lumber an easier management system, enhancing their online marketing capabilities by leveraging native widgets and dynamic customer segmentation.

Ensure that the product catalog is quality and straightforward. Having a granular architecture that can easily guide customers for the best shopping experience. At the same time, allowing the administrators to easily segment products for promotions, increasing conversion rate significantly.

Built several custom modules and integrations, as well as extended some third-party tools being used by Adobe Commerce to provide more enhanced features that align with Dunn Lumber’s business requirements.

What We Did / Highlights
01 RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGN (RWD)
Redesigned the website to reflect the brand's identity and significantly improve user experience to keep it up to date with today's design standards and demands. We used the RWD approach to keep the website's usability levels consistent across multiple devices.
02 SHOP BY BRAND MODULE
Built a brands module where the customer can browse all the different brands that are associated with the products on the website. This includes dedicated brand pages where the customer can browse all products under that specific brand. This module also comes with a robust management system in the admin to dynamically add/edit brands, as well as associate products with them.
03 ENHANCED CATALOG ARCHITECTURE
Provided a more detailed catalog architecture that vastly improves customer shopping experience. We also streamlined the product attributes and categorization for ease and accessibility.
04 UNIT OF MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
Developed a complex UOM system that determines how products are purchased and calculated. The unit of measurement values determine how product quantity and totals are calculated (e.g. per linear foot, per piece, per pair, etc.). The UOM units come from Epicor BisTrack and integrated with Adobe Commerce to be associated with all Dunn Lumber products dynamically.
05 ERP INTEGRATION
Integrated Adobe Commerce with Epicor BisTrack to update product, inventory, sales, customer, and company data between platforms.
06 JOB MANAGER
Developed a job management queue in Adobe Commerce that provides Dunn Lumber with detailed information on the different jobs created and executed due to the ERP integration. It keeps a record of all updates done by Epicor BisTrack to Adobe Commerce (and vice versa) in relation to products, customers, sales, and inventory.
07 IMPORT/EXPORT ATTRIBUTES
Developed a custom extension that allows Dunn to easily import and update attributes and their corresponding values. This makes data management more convenient especially when dealing with bulk updates on attribute values and association which Dunn Lumber regularly does.
08 ENHANCED CHECKOUT & STORE LOCATOR PICKUP
Developed a custom checkout flow where customers can choose whether they want to pick up their orders in their nearest Dunn Lumber store or have it delivered to them via a standard carrier. Also implemented a shipping restriction logic based on the customer’s provided shipping address to dynamically determine deliverable areas for Dunn Lumber based on given zip codes within the Washington area.
09 STORE SWITCHER AND LOCALIZED INVENTORY
Extended a Dunn Lumber's store locator functionality to allow users to switch between Dunn Lumber stores based on the customer’s preference. It also has a built-in real-time checker on product inventory to inform customers of the stock availability for each Dunn Lumber location.
10 WASHINGTON STATE TAX RATE LOOKUP
Developed a custom tax calculation integration that dynamically calculates tax during checkout depending on the customer’s group (consumer, dealer, or tax-exempt). The integration uses the official sales tax rates provided by the Washington Department of Revenue.
