The challenge

Rocket Industrial needed to re-platform to an eCommerce system that was capable of housing multiple websites in one location that have the capability to serve B2B and B2C customers as well as house all data from three separate systems. In addition to having the ability to sell to B2B and B2C cutomers and house data, they needed a platform that was mobile and tablet friendly, especially for their sales reps out in the field who didn’t have direct access to a computer when on-site with a customer. Binary Anvil overhauled Rocket Industrials data, created B2B and B2C storefronts, and made navigating their websites via mobile and table seamless.

Approach

Rocket industrial stressed the importance to consolidate all data and create a way to easily manage data instead of having it fragmented between three different platforms and have a distinct look between the three systems. They also wanted the Rocket Industrial website to serve the B2C user-account while constantly providing awareness of the Teckor B2B website to provide conversion opportunities from a B2C user-account to a B2B account when appropriate. Binary Anvil worked closely with Rocket Industrial to understand their business and extend Magento to exceed their expectations.

With the rise of multiple devices that can access online stores, the website should be responsive and easy to use on these platforms. It should also be lightweight and reflective of new age design style to make it more appealing to the end-users.

Make the new platform have the ability to facilitate B2C purchases, but also promote the Teckor B2B site when appropriate.

Utilize Magento's native functionality to provide Rocket Industrial an easier management system, enhancing their online marketing capabilities by leveraging Magento's widgets and dynamic segmentation.

What we did

01 Custom UI/UX

Binary Anvil incorporated multiple customize pages including 200+ unique content pages showcasing all of Rocket Industrials products and capabilities across the B2C and B2B spectrum.

02 Wholesale Grid

This customization gives the ability for customers to search, navigate, and add to cart while shopping all in one page. The wholesale grid creates an easy path to checkout, especially to returning customers who are familiar with ordering before.

03 Searchable digital asset manager tied to search results

While researching products the client can search through the Digital Asset Manager in order to find products, PDF’s, relevant content, watch videos, or any other related content to what the client is trying to purchase. This gives the client the tools in order to easily find information on products to empower the client in their product search.

04 Enhanced b2b header

Header clearly displays user’s company logo, the sales rep, and associated contact information for the sales rep assigned to the customer account.

05 Enhanced order by sku

Extending native Magento gives the customer the ability to enter the SKU(s) associated with the product they are trying to purchase as well as the quantity and add an entire order to the cart at one time, making the time to checkout a lot faster for B2B customers. Also, now B2B customers can upload a .CSV file in with SKU(s) and quantity to mass order products instead of manually typing in each SKU and product quantity.

06 Banner Slider

Homepage banner slider capable of housing multiple images that can be manually scrolled through or set up to slide from one image to the next on a timer.

07 Weight and/or price threshold for non-transactional products

Binary Anvil extension that makes a product Non-transactional, i.e. the add to cart button is replaced on the PDP, PLP, Search Results, and Compare Page with a static banner that reads “Call for Pricing” (editable). This feature can be applied to a product in a three ways; 1. Product weight. 2. Product price. 3. Manually enabled at the product level.
